AMNO Dirty Tricks Against The Public

Today was day 2 of the annual UMNO general assembly held at PWTC in Kuala Lumpur. The official opening was scheduled to be open by AAB tomorrow morning.

First of all, a light note. It seems that the Kerisman, Hishamuddin Hussein has made a serious clarification of why he waved the Malay dagger at last year's edition of the assembly. According to him, he waved because to show the Malay culture and to show that they are capable of protecting the minority Malaysian community. However, most opposition party people still think it's a stunt and the Kerisman being not sincere.

The next interesting part of Kerisman's speech is the acknowledgment that bloggers like us play an important part in nation building, which something that cannot be denied. This statement is indeed a stark contrast of what was said by the Son-In-Law of bloggers as monkeys. But he did stop short of saying the entire thing and warned of the limit, which the Puteri division (Young Women) division is saying a contrasting opinion against him, and sharing the same sentiment as ZAM. Another reference to the second part of Hisham's speech is seen here at Malaysiakini.

Now, here's the bad. With the knowledge that BERSIH will be holding a march to the palace this Saturday, there has been several signs that UMNO is attempting to sabotage the march with the deliberate purpose of playing dirty in elections, which is part of the Zero Opposition target initiated by the Son-In-Law. In bullet points:

1. The BERSIH website has been hacked for the second time this morning by supposedly UMNO cybertroopers (Azalina's thug) with the sole malice intention specified above. Unlike the yellow page, this one said the site was down, but gave a number.

2. It seems that UMNO is not sincere enough even though they have offered assurances that they mean no insult to the non-Malays. But while we can tolerate, they themselves cannot tolerate of our criticism against them. The perfect example fitting that statement is that the young women division is starting to adopt the mob-mentality attitude and emulating certain guys like Nazri Aziz. For instance, besides the blogger issue, they still find that Wee case and the aftermath still unacceptable, despite the fact that they are indeed to blame for the troubles and problems in Malaysia. Next, in the aftermath of the Nurin murder case, they also followed suite of Nazri saying negligent parents should be charged, something that drew flak from many parents and certain human rights watch dogs.

3. Gombak youth division chief Ismail Ahmad has told the opposition and people who do not like their policies to leave for Singapore. Hello, we are all in Malaysia. Remember one part of Negaraku - Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku - I had shed blood in my birthplace...and you want to tell people to leave. This may imply it is likely what is to be seen in the 2057 agenda. By right, many feel that the policies that are in the country, some are inappropriate and will need to be changed in order to progress better. But our friend Ismail Ahmad is a guy that is short of foresight and perception.

4. The Son-In-Law wants to have the organizers of the Saturday march stopped and arrested. This simple statement simply implies that they want to play dirty. He bellowed a challenge: don't be monkeys at the street (blogger reference) but challenge at the election ring. However, Malaysiakini reports that the Agong has expressed his interest in meeting with the seven heads of the memorandum delegation, which could be an own goal scored by UMNO. Just yesterday, his crony, Kalimullah Hassan is attempting to repeat the success of gagging people from putting the connection of him and S-I-L as defamation. Wake up. Kalimullah is wasting NST shareholders money endlessly for the trial.

Also, according to Article 40(2) of the Constitution, the King has the right to withhold the request by the Prime Minister to dissolve the parliament if the period is premature, that is before 5 years is up. In the past, the King consents to the PM's request in such scenarios but he was not bound that he must do it. In fact AAB has misintepreted the notion that the King has to approve his choice of Chief Justice after Ahmad Fairuz. Of course no one can go above the king!

5. Segamat UMNO exco Member Johari Ismail has filed a police report against Abdullah Badawi that three pages of last year's minutes of meeting at the UMNO Supreme Council meeting were withheld as it contains a plot by AAB to stop ex-PM Mahathir from contesting the Kubang Pasu seat at the General Assembly. The secretariat Hussainy Hashim was personally instructed by AAB to withheld the portion despite a warning from previous secretary -general Rais Yatim over the offence of withholding information.

In the online community, we are paying more attention to the statements by the Youth division, the Young Women division and of course the Son-In-Law's fight against clean election. Because if we don't do anything against the greater evil, they will play bad like what we are facing now. Price hikes, corruption, crime rates, you name it....!

The online people has to do more in fighting the blog war front and winning it.

Government Paranoia

Next Saturday is the march of for clean and transparent elections with the handing of memorandum to the King. Everybody is expected to wear yellow as to show solidarity and respect to the king, who is the figurehead and the symbol of the nation as enshrined in the Constitution.

The march is expected to draw about 10 to 100 thousand people marching comprising of NGOs, opposition parties and concerned citizens, and even lawyers, yes who wanted Malaysia to be a more better place.

The police and the government indeed do have a wrong perception about the awareness of the event. First thing they perceived is opposition parties and illegal assembly, which means - of their insistence of having to apply for the permit, so to speak according to this Malaysiakini article. The thing is no BN-component parties were invited for the show. How ironic it is.

But the thing is that the people are showing support to the AGONG! Does that mean that by applying the permit, the police are deliberately holding the king back because the king is interested in meeting his loyal subjects that shows pure love of Malaysia? Is this idea politically motivated, meaning that they think that it's the opposition ploy and would do anything to stop that thing, just as similar to the Batu Buruk incident? Is this all about elections? Is this thing likely creates fear of putting the BN's objective of Zero Opposition in elections into waste?

In Thailand, thousands of citizens, dressed in yellow shirts, flocked to the hospital where King Bhumibol was undergoing treatment as to show support and vigil for recovery for their king. It is something that is acceptable without permit because the king is a symbol of the nation that everybody should be loyal to. In Malaysia, they are showing loyalty but why can't the police or the government understand this? There has been true things that the Executive is in collision with the Conference of Rulers. Their proposals of choice of judicial heads were rejected by the Rulers. From what most actual true reports say, the government is not interested in fixing the judiciary crisis that seen in most people.

We are now seeing a paranoid Information Ministry and certain government divisions that seems to suppress what is the truth and going after those who knew the truth. Just as in the film Brazil, the government is going after the wrongful ones with no remorse or regrets. Just to sweep the problems one side away. Another battle between the government and bloggers is underway where ZAM is pointing out about the BERSIH march as rumors and something to brainwash citizens to going against them.

I'm sure most people would know this line from V For Vendetta: People should not be afraid of the governments...governments should be afraid of the people. To think in contrast of the truth shows that he is not ready to accept criticism from the people. To say that people should not join the gathering means that he wants to stop the truth from breaking out.

Lastly, we'll go through some of the excerpts from what the Mamak Man of Merbok is commenting about:

He said the rumours were spread by certain parties to get the public to join a large-scale demonstration ostensibly to support the Malay rulers.

“In certain blogs, the public has been asked to dress in yellow (for the programme),” he told reporters after meeting the ministry staff here.

He was referring to the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections gathering to be held at Dataran Merdeka on Nov 10 by non-governmental organisations and opposition parties.

Zainuddin said that although there was no boycott of the meeting, they kept spreading the rumours in the hope that the public would be taken in.

“This is a move to give the impression that there is a rift between the rulers and the executive to create suspicion that the country is in a crisis,” he added.

He said the demonstration resulted from the exposure of a video clip purportedly on a lawyer brokering judicial appointments with a senior judge.

He said even reports on the speech of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, at the 14th Malaysian Law Conference in Kuala Lumpur on Monday had focused on his criticism of the judiciary but not that of the lawyers.

This clearly showed the leaning of certain media, he said, adding that they also published letters and comments from readers and lawyers which supported a restructuring of the judiciary, giving the impression that the judiciary was not independent and credible.

You are just like Nazri, asshole! This means that you are saying there is no judiciary crisis. Have you recalled what Ramli Yusoff was saying? Informants against the underworld were exposed by the ACA circumventing the Standing Orders of the IG! And you still never accept blogging unlike your Indonesian counterpart! Sultan Azlan Shah was once a Lord President who knows more of law compared to you, goblok. He knows better and the truth is right in front of everyone and you turned your eye around....

Zainuddin said these people, who had portrayed the Malay rulers as siding with them, believed that they had succeeded in confusing the public and planned a large-scale demonstration, claiming that it was to support the Malay rulers.

“The public must heed the police advice not to attend any unlawful meeting or gathering,” he added.

They should understand that the people behind the proposed demonstration were from opposition parties, which had lost the people's support, he said.

This spreading of false news was an obsolete strategy to get the people to demonstrate, he said.

If concerned citizens think that this is the truth that has to be told...go. If the police tries to block the permit, wrong. It is politically motivated. They are handing the memorandum to the Agong. This means that the people are serious in meeting the Agong and he should be allowed to meet them WITH NO restrictions. If the government is planning to stop this thing, it means further ranking drops in the Freedom of Speech Index. Don't forget we're at 124 of 169 this year!

“I believe the people are not easily taken in by this tactic, which will be used over and over again before the general election."

Wrong!

Latest Update:

In the morning, the site was hacked and a fake posting said that it was postponed indefinitely. That was a hoax and I just got an update and comment that the show will go on.

Ramli The Partisan Speaker

Former Perak chief minister Ramli Ngah Talib, currently the Dewan Rakyat speaker seems to be a person tilting to the BN alignment.

Last week, he had rejected twice the motion by the opposition to discuss the Lingam tape that currently affects the judiciary system in Malaysia. The decision by Ramli too was slammed by the human rights watchdog SUARAM as well.

Saying not urgent or technical reason as an excuse is actually unacceptable. As a Speaker, you must give allowances to both sides, opposition and pro-government to discuss their points. By doing so, this shows that Ramli is a partisan of the pro-alliance. Let's consider the fact that he too was an pro-alliance MB during the 90s. Secondly, it shows that the pro-alliance is monopolizing the parliament as well.

During the ear-squat scandal that hit the police force, Ramli also rejected calls to have the motion discussed in the Parliament. And the recent PKFZ scandal motion to be discussed in the parliament was also rejected by him. Why? Why? The 4.6 billion bill, which ballooned is public tax-payer money. Not ministers money, not politicians money, not government money.

There are countless of rejections of motions to be discussed, motions that could affect the integrity of the nation, and Ramli chose to turn a blind eye of it? Is he politcally pressured by his ex-BN men there? If he is put in that scenario, it seems that the BN wants to keep those things hush hush.

There has been a call shown in a Malaysiakini letter, in which I concur that Ramli should quit.
But I feel a bit strange from the kind of reaction that Ramli posed when he noticed that not many MPs showing up today, and berating the absentees for not showing up for debates or so.

Playing The Card Called Race

I had a talk at lunchtime with a friend of mine, who admittedly said that there is nothing worthwhile or glorifying by sending a man from Malaysia to space. But as while we are having food, he did raise an interesting subject of what will happen in the next 10 years even before Vision 2020 with this kind of political situation in Malaysia.

I as a non-majority Malaysian together with other loving Malaysians will end up being squeezed by the corrupt people of the Bolehland and the so called UMNO shadow policy of 'Malay Dominance'. I wondered where would I be right now in the society that is ruled by people that has third world mentality. I wondered if we should blame ourselves for picking the wrong person to run Malaysia by choosing Abdullah Badawi in the post-Mahathir period.

The summary of problems in Malaysia: (with help from Malaysiakini)

You have many problems here, judicial, economy, poverty, citizen discomfort and everything. While the public suffered, those in the elite corrupt rich group are the ones that tend to drink the blood money of the people - tax payer's money. Ronnie Liu asked a question the other day, why an F grade contractor who was found to be non pro-government affiliate to be blacklisted? A senator by the name of Puad Zakarshi is an example of a racist man that wants to kick candidates out by the alignment card. Tenders offered should be given to the best of the lot! NOT by race, not by money, not by alignment, but the ability to get the job done.

One bullet named for that guy!

We had a hunch that after Raya, the government might consider increasing the price of petrol, toll and any other things that will tax us a lot in future. Come on. Only once in the Mahathir period that the petrol price went up to 1.42. How many times in Bedol? Thrice! $80 million of tax payer's money were used for sending a man up to space and then tax more from the people?

The Bolehland guys knew that Anwar Ibrahim is free to enter back to the political arena after April 2008, which is why the BN is kind of desperate of throwing a snap election probably by March after the forum meet was delayed. The idea of having a BN rep forum initially scheduled for next Sunday was part to discuss the strategy for election and to counter blogs that can say be posing a threat to the coalition. Blogs are just one side, but opposition is another side too.

Previously, I've mentioned that Malaysia is losing out to other nations in Asia like Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Australia and even India. The main reason is clear: because of the economical policies, some of them are race-based and some are ridiculous. The pure example is the affirmative action policy like NEP. It can be a tool that can benefit or cause injustice to the others. To get a job in Shell or to get a Shell franchise license, I discovered from someone, that the way of selecting candidates is by the unfair quota they set over minorities. When I finished university, I tried applying to Shell, but was rejected in the second round because of that. When it comes to selecting the two finalists, the other third man, an Indian was taken aside in favor of our final two candidates. In jobs, why not RapidKL offer jobs to other people in Malaysia instead of bringing in Indonesian workers and offering them PRs?

Back to economics, Singapore's founding father Harry Lee felt that Malaysia can improve if the economic and social policies are based on meritocracy, disregarding of race and creed. To award the contract or a tender to person who can't do the job but because he's got a special privilege over a person who has a solid reputation of getting it done and correct is to show how ignorance and lack of awareness by the corrupt ministers and officials can plunge Malaysia into an irredeemable abyss.

They have got all the resources. If they would just educate the Chinese and Indians, use them and treat them as their citizens, they can equal us and even do better than us and we would be happy to rejoin them. - Harry Lee
I felt that it is an embarrassment and a disappointment for people who really looked forward to watch Beyonce performing in Malaysia only to have her shooed away by Muslim student groups who make much more excuses in dress code than those in Indonesia. People especially youngsters are much more flexible and no longer strictly rely on the rules of religion. The rules of the religion is just a guide to life and many perceived it to be laws of country. These idiots out there also demonstrated the lack of respect for other people who wanted to go for a concert. The answer is simple: if you don't like, don't go and don't hear. Let the others go, watch and listen. Simple. But instead, the race card was played and the mob mentality was shown by idiots - Idiots who simply think that Wee Ming Chee, who produced the Negarakuku video is mocking them whereas the message conveyed to them is to realize of their mistakes and rectify them. They want to play hero, that's the answer for that.

The solution to counter this racial polarization and the so called 'Malay Dominance Principle' by UMNO and BN that seems to affect every loyal Malaysian is that every other BN component parties join together, stand up and pushing for the change within the ruling condition. The shooting of the idea is somewhat a bullshit response. They have to remind together what BN is actually for. Not by race, but Malaysians - Bangsa Malaysia. A good word from Dr. Toh Kim Woon is the admittance that BN is in this situation - hard to convince them to change for the better. But there are at least three major obstacles in that possible solution:

1. UMNO decides the role of BN Component parties.

2. The MCA and MIC is not doing their job of protecting the interests of non-Malays in Malaysia. All they did is just to acknowledge and kowtow to the edicts and orders of UMNO. No wonder we felt that MCA is just all about cocks!

3. We still remember what the Kerisman warning is all about.

Another bullet named for him!

The world has gone upside down. How on earth are we living as loving Malaysians if the rot continues and the idiots are still running the show badly?

Telling The Wrong Tale

I remembered Anwar Ibrahim said the other day that the mainstream media should not be *owned* by the politics group and none of them has the capability to operate and report news by their own devices and whim. You do not need to have mathematics to deduce it. UMNO simply owns (through substantial shares) of Media Prima (all private TV stations) Berita Publishing Group (NST, Malay Mail and Utusan) whereas the MCA politically owns The Star (hence the name MaChAi) paper.

So how about Malaysiakini or The Sun? I don't know but Malaysiakini remains the independent media reporting thing in Malaysia. Don't count the opposition media but it remains the only neutral alignment paper that reports both ends - pro and the opposition.

Okay, now to the point. It was something that I've been anticipating in the past few days when Zorro and Big Sir Pete reported that two police whistle-blowers were hung out to dry in front of the mainstream media and they were formally charged by the rigged ACA on 14 counts of manipulating testimonies with sole purpose of framing Musa Hassan.

I don't know whether the reporters were charged of taking this news item down to be published to the public by the top police brass or not. In fact I remembered the name of the reporter in The Star who wrote it, coincidentally was my senior back in my St. Michael days. But the bottom line is that the police top brass and the mainstream media (indirectly) is deliberately telling the wrong story to the public. Indirectly, some Barisan Najis stooges (as Mob would coin it) and police wants the public to perceive the top brass, now allegedly to be linked with Chinese underworld as the heroes that save Malaysia at the end of a day. Furthermore, the ACA was hit by criticism that it is not doing their job and this can be a chance for them to do it right (as what they think).

Again, the people are being told the wrong side of the story.

The truth is that the police top brass and some underworld groups has figured out and panicked with the revelation that the two whistle-blowers had actually cracked the puzzle that connects both of sides and shows their association that the public does not know. As Big Pete said, there's a turf style conflict with two cells that is the government and the police. And to prevent things from further spilling out that could trigger panic of confidence to the public, the police with ACA had to turn the tables around and tell the other side of story with conviction.

How they did it was not mentioned in the mainstream media but instead a dirty tactic revealed by Big Pete: the ACA had 'kidnapped' the family of an inspector named Nordin Ahmad, demanding him to show up at their office in Kuantan in exchange for his family. Remember that the ACA was the one who cleared both Joe Baharom and Musa of corruption allegations as well as AG.

What both men Nordin and Kpl. Wong had in common is that both men had gathered intelligence and profiled the organization of the Chinese underworld, its connection with the police top brass and the sufficient proof that could bring Musa Hassan down in disgrace via interviews and statements with prominent underworld figures detained. Nordin's work alone was more than sufficient to paint the entire picture. The picture that he paints is enough to squeal to those who are interested to hear that PDRM has been corrupted.

The arrest made against both men is actually a hidden message intended to be conveyed to the other police officers and the public as well: if you squeal on those you know to be corrupted, you will suffer retribution. The result? Nobody dared to show up to testify which of course points to the Altatunya case right now. And a whistle-blower is likely to be hunted by corrupt people for screwing them up. But on the other hand, the police needs somebody on the other side to understand the mechanics and workaround of how underworld people operate. Without the mutual person, how are they going understand the mechanics?

The slight hint of truth was actually hinted out a few days ago at The Star when the police force gets sophisticated equipment and an e-police solution that is worth millions of ringgit developed by a firm that Musa recommended.

Witchhounds in Campus

I remembered one my schoolmates in secondary school and my aunt studying at UPM for their degree courses respectively. I am aware that in universities there is such a thing as university politics.

Of course, student leaders are free to do so as long as it doesn't go above the ethics in the university.

But I feel that the case at UPM is quite outrageous.

That student is trying to make his time at UPM memorable and being active in various activities besides studying. Instead, he finds that his things are confiscated by security personnel who don't even understand the word of privacy.

From Malaysiakini, briefly:

First-year Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) student Yee Yang Yang is considering legal action to get back his laptop which was seized by the campus security on Friday night.

In addition to his laptop, the security officers also carted away Yee’s mobile phone, MP3 player and 10 other items valued at RM6,000 during a spot check of his hostel room. Documents were also confiscated.

Yee (right), who is studying timber technology, was also interrogated about his involvement in student politics.

Although he was told that the items would be returned last Saturday, this did not happen - and a 75-minute meeting with unit director Mej Othman Jailani today did not produce results either.

"They (security officials) wanted me to give them the password for my phone and laptop so that they could check the contents," he told reporters outside the campus security's office this afternoon.

"I refused. I want them to return my things and to apologise to me publicly because they did not follow proper procedures when they took away my belongings.

"Not only were they not in uniform, but they were also rude when I asked questions."

The attitudes of these authorities shows that they are arrogant, thinking that they are high and mighty. In addition, these "pigs" absolutely have no respect on one matter: privacy. Which is indeed against the rights of every human being that is entitled to.

I often think that to have that thing impede your way to make your life meaningful in campus means is to make a ruckus out of your for nothing.

If it is clearly because of the survey form in which you hardly like the current ministers of Bolehland, this means that you are trying to force everyone to accept the statement as the Nazi man Nazri would do before. It is still the shut up and listen mentality that these people are trying to impose. I recalled the statement that Machai made sometime ago that they still need to listen to the UMNO because of the superiority...why keep doing that when you know that you don't really agree to their ideas? Public backlash? That's because despite having the kind of stature and reputation, some of the cronies have a shallow level of understanding!

You don't have to stick to a group if you don't really agree on. You can just ignore the call to be called a black sheep. Stand up for what you are, people!

If I had the chance, I would definitely carry a gun and shoot the idiots point blank in the face. What a kind of disrespect you show to a student that poses no physical harm to others. Yee Yang Yang deserves the right to voice his on comment, not to be shoved of stupid men ideas!

The real truth is indeed hurting the guys at UPM. It's just another parallel case of the lawsuit against Rocky and Jeff. Kalimullah Hassan is trying to shut things up the same thing he gags Matthias Chang - a fellow man from the same school of mine - and Husam Musa. It's going to be another embarrassment for the idiots of the Bolehland.

I often dreamed of Bolehland guys running the nation well when I was a kid. But after Mahathir era, it is going the other way round. I just simply don't have much words to continue about that.

The Rich and Greedy

This is a classic example of fat men. Not the physical fat men, but those who are rich, corrupt and worst of all, this man is a Member of Parliament. Member of Parliament of Klang.

You are an MP but you built your own house - a rich man's house in front of a garden estate populated by normal people. People will look kind of little jealous about you.

Last week, this man and a few company directors were cleared of 37 charges against them.

Show off. Isn't that a show of vanity? MP, make money through other businesses and build your own house like you don't even care of your duty?

As an MP, it is foremost a duty to help and serve the public who had entrusted you with the job to lead them, speak out for their troubles and always be ready in the time of their need.

But hey - he's shaking his legs. Building his big mansion, opening an illegitimate food shop without the council's permit and you still can get away with nothing?

Surely there must be someone above that is pulling the judiciary strings. In my opinion, maybe the judiciary was told not to do so against the VIP man like this man above for the risk of losing promotion. But who would be that mysterious party?

VIPs getting a preferential treatment or special treatment? They are spared from the blushes. But what about this scenario against an ordinary person like Wee Ming Chee? Wee was never given the chance. The idea of keeping him in leash despite apology shows how these big men practice double-standards. It's like clubbing a person to death, unconvinced of the sincerity.

I'm still scratching my head trying to understand that thing.

Eunuchs!

Three days left before the license for the JIRA application expires. Unfortunately, nobody from Atlassian seemed to be answering my mail of desperate call. But those who came and going through the whole system seemed to be calling the shots particularly by those working on the ILMU component of the entire product.

They ask if they can put this field visible on certain stages, ask if they can put this there or not. I couldn't say no though as to avoid raising their hidden reaction of anger or my trying to show off, which is something I would like to avoid at all costs. Among things they asked were if they can convert the PRC thing to a click append thing, auto assign. I wonder wouldn't it be good for them to exercise their muscles for a while by setting the date manually. At least the good thing they said was "see if you can".

At times I couldn't think of a good answer to explain to them. They think that this program does wonders like they can incorporate many things into one. Well, almost all. Except for the last part. When they proposed the big amount of changes there at around 3 p.m., I had to rework on changing the screens, changing the workflow and etc.. and all my work crashed abruptly when the database server refused to connect with my terminal, which I am hosting the program.

Everytime I log into the system, the red label at the main screen kept showing in my face. I really wanted to give myself a breather after all this. I thought I could finish everything, but the database server crash at the last minute in the evening prevented me from going on.

I wonder how some of the colleagues I feel behaved like eunuchs in the feudal Chinese period. They wield more power than the royals, showing themselves how mighty they are. Well, that was pre-Three Kingdoms saga but I feel that they refuse to go for the new change or something. At least my manager encouraged me to try go outside the box. But to them, I find that they are still back inside the box. But their seniority is above my authority. What can I do but to do and maybe grief this to my U.M?

Oh, God. Please help me. Is this what Ephesus is about? Patience and penitence?
