At What Real Cost?

The top brass of Barisan Nasional has been running around the country and giving all sorts of promises, splashing goodies around to the people in exchange for requesting them to give support in the next general elections. I was already certain that the general election would be somewhere around in November mainly because this takes into account of how the possible feel good hype that would be elicited from the people after the 2013 budget announcement, and the incentives that could be offered in conjunction with the Haji and Deepavali holidays. Analyzing on people sentiment, the ruling coalition is likely to count on the Malay votes (if you can understand their psyche, mindset as well) and the roller-coaster mindset of the Indians which can go up and down depending on the situation that arises that involves their society.

It is unlikely that they would wait until after Chinese New Year because the situation seems not well to them. It has already been established that most of Chinese are dead-set to vote for the opposition. The one thing that many in the top brass may find it hard to comprehend even including UMNO's partner, MCA is perhaps of the level of maturity, awareness and the mindset of the Chinese community in comparison with the other races of the Malaysian community. It is already noted that the level of support is very low that UMNO has already given up any big chance to regain support from the Chinese.

From the tone of what I am to present:

Sounds like I am talking race comparison.
Sounds like I am looking down at other people.
Sounds like I am talking race stuff.
Sounds like I am screaming "I'm better than you."

But out of here, there is a question that I wish to bring out especially at the naive and those who find it hard to believe in it. There's not much need for me to harp on the racial, royalty and religion thing as it is not my forte to talk about nor to those who are looking more bigger issues than those three that merely scratch the surface.

Recently there have been speeches from the big brass like (e.g Mahathir, Muhyiddin, Rais Yatim, Najib) calling for Malay unity, general unity, demands for gratitude to the ruling party, you help me I help you things in particular. They shout non-stop almost every day of "vote for us to keep the country stable." These leaders imply that the country would collapse if they do not hold on to their power on and on. And on prime time television, the party-owned private channels in particular are playing propaganda ads as to push for more support -no thanks to their infinite amount of resources, so as they perceived. But then again it's already almost 60 years they are in power, yet they are found to be caught with misconduct in almost every aspect of the country administration.

Some people have been asking why most of the Chinese community and the well-educated middle class have already no longer willing to stick to the convention and decide to go for something totally different and out of the box. The country's running old men have been calling and accusing some of them as creating a revolution and scream of instability if there's a change of guard in the country. Contrary to that, there's actually no such unusual effect happening since this scenario often happens in other countries. There's nothing to be excited about and to cheer about it. And as to allow me to answer that, it comes to one high probable reason: if you can understand the saying of "survival of the fittest" then perhaps it can answer that solution above. People have started to get past the "must feed me" thing and use other means to achieve success in live.

So why does the mainstream media seem to glorify the government although they are clearly have committed some gross misconduct? One thing is for sure, they are now lagging in support and are trying to drum up support way to the finishing line sometime around next year at most.

I appreciate some of the writings written by some of my friends that when being conveyed their own people which describes of how people are being mislead over the promises made by the present government of the day only to see what was promised being denied claiming of no such claim. Note that the present opposition has not at once run as the government of the day so it is not right to compare their track record because we didn't give them the chance to demonstrate their capabilities.

I also appreciate that through their writings that their people have started to acknowledge their mistakes and have started to wake up. However my only question to them would be on what about those who are still unwilling to correct their mistakes and stand for the coalition that has committed many misdeeds and gross misconduct? And what about those who are going to be ultimately mislead?

Here's one example of a person being ultimately mislead: Recently the man who accused Mat Sabu on the Mat Indera case has already admitted to the court that he made a police report based on the Utusan newspaper report. It was already proven that Mat Sabu did not utter or say anything that is referred to Communism in his series of public speeches. The man has then admitted to this and has asked the Sessions court in Penang to drop the case. This means that the man was a victim of misleading by the spin by the media - the spin that the government of the day, the present ruling coalition wishes to show it to the mass people.

Sure, it is still their right to decide. You can't obstruct them from making their choice. At what cost in exchange for your vote for them?

Okay, you would accuse me as another person dead set on going against the coalition party. I have my own set of reasons behind it. Any well educated, matured person can think of it. And if people ask me whether I am taking the risk to go and do something unconventional, the answer is yes. It's like making an unusual bet of (e.g a Double 0 in roulette, Snake Eyes for dice craps, etc..). Let's face it that the fate and future of the country is not decided by the handful of people nor just the minority of the Malaysians but the majority of people that forms the big part of the Malaysian society - but the problem is of being too simple-minded.

And allow me to fill in the blanks for you, o'naive and unbeliever ones for the question above:

1. You are actually acknowledging that flocks of sheep fly in the sky and monies fall from the trees.
2. You are condemning your future generations and your country to remain mundane until the point we're all gone and after say another 100 years of independence.
3. You show yourself that you're chickening out with no guts to think out of the box and vs convention.
4. You are actually saying that up becomes down, black is white - what is illegal is legal and vice versa.
5. You are saying that you don't really believe the real warnings - not by those who claim to say it's okay for now -  until it is too late to go back because you got complacent subsequently. The Greece scenario is a case in point.

Tak Boleh To Local Govt. Elections

When Guan Eng first raised the idea of bringing back the local government elections, Najib Razak said no way to that. It was already anticipated that with that, the head goes in one way, and the tail will go another way. What it means is that if you are a BN state government, and having a local government that is fully leaning towards the PR, things don't go in sync due to opposing forces.

Of course this is a double-edge sword. For Kelantan and Selangor in particular, having a PR state government with departments that has staff loyalty to Barisan Nasional, it will give people a wrong perception in how the state is administered. Just like in Selangor, people are complaining of needing approval from UMNO men before you can do something.

But anyhow, looking at the bright side, the time of confrontation and emergency is way faded into the shadows that can no longer be feared upon. So it can be brought back. But you need to repeal the clause included in the Local Government Act 1976 to do that. Plus you need the Election Commission to give a go ahead. So I'd say that BN-majority parliament will shoot down the idea immediately.

Big Mama of course will say no to that idea. But still it is indeed a lose-lose situation for Najib. If PR goes ahead, other BN states will have to do so, follow suit and it does not bode well for Najib and Big Mama, especially if this happens in Perak. Things will go other way round against their favor. Since Najib says no, it is also considered a political and perception win for the PR because this shows how democratic and more moderate they are than BN as they claimed to be.

Faisal Tehrani, who wrote a short story used for SPM BM literature, "Kerana Manisnya Epal" put up an interesting piece that is no doubt a dig at Najib and Bik Mama. Takut bini, as many would say about the first couple. Yes, it can be funny but true indeed, and this could put a color anecdote to what is above about rejecting a Local Government Election.

Hahaha....Sure Got It Right Or Not, Nazri?

One written reply by Nazri on October 23 that states that the Anti-Corruption agency has closed its case on Mr. 'Correct' Lingam due to lack of key witnesses. But Lingam's ex-secretary was mentioned prominently during the last few days of the Haidar commission.

I was at the attendance of Day 5 of the hearing at the beginning of last year in fact.

In one of the sessions attended, there was a statement that she did travel arrangements for him to meet up with Eusoff Chin in New Zealand, with a special man assigned by Vincent Tan to become the middle men of the two families. True, she also mentioned of Lingam preparing the court judgement of Vincent vs MGG Pillai defamation suit.

But I find it funny and wondering if Nazri Aziz (in his capacity of Law Minister) saying that MACC closed the case despite key witness testimony? Or was it that Nazri only knew certain portions or there's something else that we do not know and got hoodwinked? This brings me to wonder whether if Nazri has the knowledge of law or just don't know things entirely.

Sure got it right or not meh?

Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.

The gomen is in panic now. How or who actually gave Pete Kamaruddin those papers becomes the question and in the panic, the PM and police are starting to probe and shoot the messenger.

Since the afternoon, the Mob's own ISP - TMNet has blocked access to Malaysia Today. From my guessing, the leaked document's content is true and it indeed has the actual signature of Nor Mohamad Yackop. This has showed that people of Malaysia has been swindled and the tax payer swallowed up leaving people vulnerable to the next economical bubble burst.

The Malaysian Insider has been reiterative of its phrase about Pete - 'taunting authorities and being a thorn in Najib's administration'. Of course, this doesn't bode well for Big Mama for many believe that she was behind the killing of Altantuya. Of course many monikers cropped out about her including the call card 'Bini Puaka'.

Judging by the response to the leak, with Najib saying of the use of Official Secrets Act, it seems that what was in the paper was actually true, apart from the signature at the end and they seem to be very desperate to sweep it under the carpet. If the rest of the people start to find out it is true, then it's game over for them.

The other day, an opposition MP, Mahfuz Omar has challenged Najib and the entire cabinet to resign if the document leaked is true. No way they will do that because my friend said before,

And you bet that Big Mama is having headaches....!

The moral of the story: if you are stupid, don't tell the people.

That Asshole Better Be Charged....

Yes, the guys who were protesting in the section 23 thing last week will be charged at courts. Out of the approximately 50, 6 will be under the Sedition Act, while the remaining will be under Police Act 1967.

Fine. But I hope to hear that this UMNO man by the name of Azmir Mohd Zain (we know as the man who instigated this incident) will be charged. If the name was never mentioned at all, then we have a good guess that UMNO is covering him, or we can say some high-ranking politicians have instructed Gani Patail not to let go and give Azmir a slap in the wrist. IMO, I smell something fishy that the charges could be selective.

It's just not him. There were a few notable figures from UMNO, one of them I actually saw him as a guest speaker of the AMK's talk back in the SCAH a few months ago with Hishamuddin Rais.

I am keeping an eye of how things will fold. If my guessing is right, then I surmise that Gani will get whacked left and right just as what many of us do in whacking Musa Hassan left and right over the extension of contract. Perhaps these two could be part of covering the Altantuya thing?

On a side note, there is a two hour plus interview with Pete Kamaruddin and the first segment is due by Thursday. The speculation of what is to reveal is sure to drive Bik Mama in hysteria.

Extending Musa's Contract Is Supporting The Mob..It's True!

Despite pleas to the King from many quarters Musa Hassan's contract was extended by one more year until September 13 2010. Many of us believed that Musa is affiliated with the Chinese underworld figures (prominently Tengku Goh and BK Tan) which is actually true when Musa's former ADC released a statutory declaration confirming what Johari Baharom, and a few others including Ramli Yusuff, his six subordinates, had been saying all along.

Perhaps we all remember that in 2007, former PM Abdullah Badawi really wanted by words to eradicate crime - thus his statement of declaring all-out-war against crime. Of course, the ultimate goal is to reduce the crime rates in this country, currently at the staggering rate of 35 percent.

From The Star - April 6 2007:

He said the Government aspired to build the country, but would not succeeded without the police to wage war against criminals.

Even though certain parties looked down on the police because of several irresponsible people, it did not mean that the nation had lost respect for the force, he said.

Abdullah later presented special police awards to five members of the public for their role in educating the public and enhancing the image of the force.

Those who received the Friends of the Police award were Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Yayasan Strategik Sosial executive director Datuk Dr Denison Jayasoria, Benama general manager Datuk Azman Ujang, Utusan group chief editor Datuk Khalid Mohd, and The Star national crime desk head Lourdes Charles.

Taking the cue from the Prime Minister, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said the police would go all out to stop those involved in gangsterism in Sarawak, even if "influential" people were involved.

He also warned his officers that stern action would be taken against any of them found to be linked with the gangsters.

The mere question above is that the statement (last one) -whether it is applying to all except Musa? Will hiring the retirees out to help be sufficient if the head is found to be in bathing in the black pool that is corruption? Musa's track record is sufficient to spell out whether you want him on or not.

I always remembered Musa as somewhat failed to capture the elusive murderers of Nurin. And as well being involved in the conspiracy of setting up Anwar Ibrahim in the 1998 sodomy case.

The proof is actually visible in our eyes. But the mainstream media never picked it up.

Sadly, I must say that His Majesty was (not to say ill-advised) but was not given the entire, actual picture from the other quarters, only buying to the advice of the cousins Najib and Hishamuddin. When Abdullah Ahmad Badawi decided to say NFA action despite evidence to convict Musa it indirectly hints of the government doesn't believe into that thing But I believe that there could be several shadowy characters behind the scenes that was campaigning to give Musa the extension as to benefit their own.

Coming back to the article quoted, if the gomen wants to eradicate crime seriously, they need to clean up the enforcement thing. You have seen the interrogation tactics and how the police deal with the public not to mention of how the MACC interrogates prisoners a.l.a gangster style tactics / intimidation.

It seems the gomen is not bothering about the real truth. Instead it is throwing a support behind a police force that is actually run by the mob gangsters!? It's no strange thing and I have hear many grumblings, rantings and laments from other police officers who feels that the police force is actually splitting apart from the inside.

It was a very bad mistake by Abdullah Badawi to give Musa the extension at the first place.

Don't Bullshit Us, Hisham!

I find that the reasoning of Hisham Hussein defending the cow-head protestors is somewhat a try to bullshit people, false truths, or maybe otherwise. But anyhow it is a part of creating trouble in Selangor. Remember what Najib said of taking back Selangor at all costs?

UMNO Provaction

Several PAS people have conducted an independent investigation of who actually instigated the protest of moving the temple to Shah Alam section 23. They have studied the video footage from Malaysiakini and have recognized two notable figures in part of the protest. Out of the 50 people believed to be involved in the demos, approximately 10 percent of the numbers are from Section 23 themselves, whereas the rest of the mob came from elsewhere, but mostly affiliated with UMNO.

Based on the footage seen, they have identified the main figurehead to be Azmir Mohd. Zin, who is the Section 23 Branch chief. Azmir is the younger brother of former Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Datuk Ahmad Nawawi Zin, who lost the seat to Yaakob Sapri in the 2008 general elections. Many have said and recognized Azmir as a "samseng" that runs around Up-town Shah Alam.

A revelation such as above has given some doubts that although the government are condemning such protest, but being two-face as revealed in the evidence above, it is attempting to intisgate more problems as to bring down the Selangor state government like what happened in Perak. It is an attempt to make the Malays think of the Indians and other non-Malay people as their enemies.

A quote from the Malaysian Insider said:

Hishammuddin refuted claims that the protest was organised by Umno and said that the location allocated by the state government is not suitable because Section 23 is predominantly Malay.

With this fact and video footage above, it is tantamout to bullshitting the people out there. I have a feeling that people are being lied with the statement there, and I find that it is an illusion to cover things up.

Order for case closed?

On Saturday, state CPO Khalid Bakar has said that the protest will be investigated under the Sedition Act. Today, the investigations have been completed and will be submitted to the AG chambers later on. Chances are in this scenario, the case is likely to be marked as a NFA (No Further Action), despite strong proof that UMNO is behind the provacation. Referring to this quote from the Malaysian Insider, Hisham said:

“If it can be resolved quickly and can be done with both sides understanding each other ... why would we want to penalise anybody?” he said, suggesting he was not in favour of legal action to be taken against any of the protestors.

That public statement is indirectly and a possibility of a word to the AG chambers to put the investigation papers submitted by the police to them. There is sufficient evidence to say that UMNO is responsible for that protest that day. And making a public statement before the investigation is complete is equivalent to the Executive intefering with another entity violating the separation of powers.

The attorney general has scored several own goals already, shooting his own foot. If a prime example is needed read this interesting revelation in Malaysia Today on his instructions to release a crime syndicate boss from the RR (restricted residence)

Hidden Hands

"If I wanted to use the issue to create chaos in Selangor, I can but we didn’t take such actions"

Denying such things and using the pig-head thing is an example of diverting the actual situation away from people's eyes to something else that people will not know so that people.

Actually, instigating the demo in Shah Alam isn't the only handiwork of that man himself. There are hidden hands and it starts from the top, branches into two divisions and finally into one. I will not elaborate further but a commentary article in Malaysiakini seems to hint otherwise.

Bullshitting People

If you remember the Gedung Kartun raid case, Zunar, the publisher has refuted the claims that the permit has been approved and the certificate of permit can be taken from August 14 onwards. However, when asked to explain why a raid was done, the communications officer explained that the book was published without permit.

There was a permit number given and there is no way they would say that the permit is not given for the number was genuine. Hishamuddin - the problem is that he might not have a single idea of what the situation is all about and so on...something that is missed out in his job description as the Home Minister.

And that's really one way to kelentong people.

Lunas Assemblyman Leaves PKR...I Said So About Anwar's Blunder

As I have said previously, Anwar Ibrahim has made one major blunder in this 17 months so far and that's evident when Lunas state assemblyman Radzhi Salleh decided to jump ship and become and independent.

I have mentioned my piece (Anwar Ibrahim's Biggest Blunder in 17 Months ) in the previous posting but would like to comment on the Lunas thing. The Lunas seat in 2000 won by PKR marks the start of the reformasi in the elections thing. It was fortunate for if Joe Fernandez was not murdered 9 years ago, it would still be a different thing.

Anwar, I've said so and you blew it. Period.

The signs where there before the real thing happened. For instance they never expected that turning down the opportunity to bubar state assembly resulted in 3 people moving over.

Are You Saying Helping Other Malaysians Is Considered Betraying Your Own Kind?

There is no religion in this world that says that you cannot help other people just because they are different skin colors or they practice different faiths. The Bible, the Quran, the Torah, and other holy books never said of you cannot help that. In fact saying that is a violation of the Abrahamic teachings, in which is the root of Islam and Christianity. Helping fellow men is the most common virtue that God himself would appreciate on men who would do it.

If someone said that helping others is betraying your own kind, that means it more or less of the teachings of the Devil. Only someone who is stupid would say that.

It started with a series of events starting with Muhyiddin Yassin calling Anwar Ibrahim as a traitor of the Malays and then UMNO had its own support Muhyddin in PWTC followed by NGOs coming to say the sentiment of Muhyiddin. On that last part, I wonder whether it is the blind faith to UMNO that is driving the frenzy or is it that the craze of self-gain leverage defying the logic and moral grounds?

People are starting to hate them. That's one of the reasoning. The anti-ISA rally, held 10 days ago reveals that 95% of people who participated there are the Malays themselves. There is a inference from that event to show that Malays are helping their fellow Malaysians, own skin and other skins (read non-Malays). From that point, it shows that the UMNO is losing power over the privileges they enjoyed in the last 52 years.

Now who is really actually betraying anyhow? Some of us do remember of how the misdeeds committed but unreported by 'scum' / people who are mostly affilated with UMNO.

Pic by The Malaysian Insider

I am no fan of Anwar Ibrahim but I find that if you are saying that helping people or being fair to other people irregardless of skin color is a sin and a traitor to your own kind, then you better ship out. The statement that started with Wak Sembab Muhyiddin mirrors to how Templars started the war against the Muslims in the Third Crusade. What is the point of having the 1Malaysia concept when you have people like Muhyiddin screaming like Ketuanan Melayu thing?

Shouting those rhetorics revealed the characteristics of people who are either in blind faith to the party without using logics or people who behave like Nazis. It also points out that Najib himself is facing trouble and dissent from people in his own party who is more of the leanings towards the Ketuanan Melayu concept that has gone down the drain. The tale of Julius Caesar, including the history that chronicles his life and backstabbing ultimately ends with Caesar's betrayal by his number two man. Consider in the Malaysian political context, maybe Muhyiddin could go against Najib sooner or later..perhaps.

You say other people but what about those among themselves? Consider this:

UMNO has totally ran out of ways to make people to follow them. They want fish for feed but the problems they face mirrors of how they are not able to do their own fishing and expecting people to spoon feed them all the time. And that's where the actual term of Ketuanan Beggars should come into place. And then, as Malaysiakini quoted from Anwar 'politics of race and hatred' is like being a lute player who plays only one tune over and over again.

Saying this thing over and over again will get people bored. And being too ultranationalist as some people will get the rest of the zoo very angry and will eventually get that joker killed. And I get sick of hearing the same tune played over and over again.

Yes, I am rambling because what Muhyiddin Yassin said is something that the younger generation wants to hear. When I sat on the LRT back to Masjid Jamek, I saw a graffiti that says ABU - meaning Asalkan Bukan UMNO. It seems that the young generation has sent a message of desire of freedom and seem to have a disillusion of UMNO and the politics of machination?

Don't believe me? You don't have to. Well, it's just my ramblings and opinion. Arguably, the ego factor is the government's strength and weakness. A media embarassment,( see Is Telling The Inconvenient Truth Something Worth It Now? ) as reported on the foreign media as like what Liberation said has put a shame on the government. It's a waking to reality thing. And to say to critics or people who thinks that the government is making the wrong moves as 'fuck you' shows how 'anti-democratic' - against what they claim to preach. Where's the walk the talk thing?

Utusan's Provocation To Encourage Malay Chauvinism

Utusan's article entitled "The Malays are Cowards" is simply one way of UMNO to say to the Malay community that their rights have been stripped and so forth. But the statement that they say is merely a false hope to the people and actually people get nothing out of it.

The target of reading audience is for those majority of the Malay community who stayed away from urban areas and more on those village areas, with those who are lack in social savvy and education savvy in mind. In other words, those pre-Merdeka generation and those way back. The lack of Internet in those rural areas will be part of the advantage to press the false message to the readers there.

The idea behind the article is to provoke the other races into attacking the Malays and to encourage Malay chauvinism. Secondly, it is to reinforce the distrust, skepticism and unwillingness to trust other people of other colors. In other words, it is to keep the racial quo and gap wide open and maintaining the gap. In the recent years, the gap between all races are starting to close among each other, with everyone starting to express their comfortability to interact and work with other races.

“Who will hold the position of Chief Secretary. Secretary-generals, department director-generals. Senior officers and district officers? Who will be senior officers in the police and military?”

“Witness what has happened in Penang, Perak and Selangor. The Malay special rights and the NEP is no more.”

It didn't really matter whether you are black or white you can be a senior officer. Just whoever's best in the capability. Reading that I'd say that UMNO and this Noor Azam fellow demonstrated the lack of maturity and to think beyond the race game. It is like singing one tune with a lute over and over again.

The so call claim that Malays are losing power has been echoing since the March 8 general elections. That claim never existed at all. The real truth is that the so call Malay rights and privileges were never lost at all. UMNO is losing their power and dominance. The fear of losing power is driving them crazy and to do various kind of stupid and unacceptable things like calling police to whack people, calling Anwar as a traitor to their race, whereas people like Zahid and Muhyiddin are actually doing the wrong thing, etc..

As to fan more hate to them and push for more chauvinism, Muhyiddin remarked (as in Malaysiakini) - "What the Chinese, Indians and PAS want is greater political and administrative powers". Again, cap Melayu does not gurantee that race brand is the best in a capacity. It was illogical and wrong.

MCA and MIC are among the big three forming Barisan Nasional, but still after the general elections, they still say to people via their newspapers that they protect their fellow race interest. I mean like 'defenders of the Chinese, defenders of the Indians' but never answered the last part, 'against who?'. The answer is simple..against who means 'other races' meaning that if you're MCA, then the other races are your enemies. Simple as that.

I would love to go in a shoot whoever said that as a Commissar. How pathetic that people are = walking one step backwards. Please understand that everyone is getting duped into believing some cock shit by Utusan. It's time to wake up to reality. Period.

The question I have is how do you get out from the dream and put yourself into reality? If you have got up but you want to help people to be in the reality, how? Sometimes, exposing the inconvenient truth will have to be necessary to make things right...frankly.

BN's Current Assault on Selangor State Govt.

As if the Beng Hock episode is insufficient as part of BN's hit on the Selangor statement, I just heard from a statement of a forum by Elizabeth Wong that three directors of some state departments were ordered to be transferred by order of the Federal government.

Elizabeth do believed that it is part of weakening the state government.

The latest transfer involves the LUAS director who was given a 24-hour notice to transfer to Putrajaya without cause.

Beng Hock's Solidarity Gathering

Approximately 3000 to 7000 people gathered today to vent their anger at the MACC over the death of Teoh Beng Hock while in MACC custody. From 4.30 to 7.15 p.m, a few number of speakers, most them from the Selangor MPs and assemblymen gave a few words. Also special guests include Guan Eng and Husam Musa.

A few of us bloggers went there to cover the event. But some could not attend following Capt. Yusof's passing.

Highlights from the speakers:

1. Nik Nazmi - Plan to destroy the state government by MACC an entity of UMNO/BN
2. Tunku Aziz - We will not sacrifice for One Malaysia but we are willing to die for a democratic Malaysia
3. William Leong - We cannot trust the police, judges and SPRM. We can only trust the people.
4. Xavier Jeyakumar - MACC is a tool of UMNO. All lies have to be stopped and MACC can only resume their investigations once the Teoh case has been investigated completely.
5. Husam - Please answer immediately why and how an Anak Malaysia is dead. Cabinet should immediately convene and a royal commission should be formed otherwise people will not accept an explaination, and Ahmad Said Hamdan should resign.
6. Lim Kit Siang - Teo's death = Anwar's black eye; all high profile cases of MACC cannot be trusted; MACC has unoffically declared war on Selangor PR; anyone who says no to forming a royal commission should resign (a warning to Mat Sembab Muhyiddin)
7. Guan Eng - Musa Hassan should resign; "Teoh Beng Hock was pushed off the building."

Khalid was the last speaker and the event was brought to a close by Karpal Singh.

Towards the end of the event, a group of people burned copies of Berita Mingguan and Mingguan Malaysia for the biased reporting over the Teoh's death case.

More picture of this event can be seen here.

Question Marks on Suicide at MACC

There have been question marks over how a secretary to a state assemblymen could fell from top of a building to his death while he was in a good condition a day or two prior to that. What started is of course a blitz raid by the state Anti-Corruption commission then goes into the offices of two state assemblymen. According to a quote from Malaysiakini, Ean Yong the assemblyman said that he was in a normal condition.

What I understand is that this time the interrogation of Beng Hock is not the same pattern as the Abu Ghraib style of detention allegedly happen to Kugan and the other man in Damansara Utama.

Quote from The Star:

MACC director of investigation Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull said Teoh -- a former journalist with Sin Chew Daily -- was released at about 3:45am on Thursday after his officers had finished recording his statement.

He said Teoh did not go back but was seen loitering in the building and had asked to rest for a while at the pantry.

“No one saw him after that until we were alerted that a body had been found on the fifth floor at about 1:30pm,” he said, adding that Teoh was a witness in the MACC investigation.

The question mark is whether it is a suicide or did someone throw him out like what happened to the Comedian in Watchmen? If a person commits suicide but in a sane manner, that person would definitely leave a note somewhere. But the man is in the vicinity of the MACC building, and it would fall under the organisation's responsiblity to ensure the safety of witnesses including those who were requested for testimony.

Didn’t lawyer Mano, who accompanied Teo to the MACC HQ, and who last saw him at 7pm yesterday, say that Teo “was happy and looked composed”

Since there was no mention of a suicide note somewhere in the building, it means to do with being thrown off. I have a fuzzy feeling that it could fall into that. A silent assasination, making us to think of it as a foul play whereas there was a hidden hand involved. If you are a video game fan and played Hitman: Blood Money, you would find similarities surrounding killing a target and what is written in the papers the next day.

It has been a desire of Abdullah Badawi and Ahmad Said Hamdan the director to have MACC to be as great as the ICAC since it was said of MACC aims to emulate the model of the Hong Kong counterpart. But given of a death and apparent suicide in the jurisdication of MACC, I find it hard to say that MACC has a failed startup given of the ability not to pursue further action despite strong evidence of corruption against MAS's Tajudin Ramli for example.

If MACC cannot go and prosecute the corrupt cronies and people despite a strong proof that shows of their misconduct, how would they be called as to combat corruption as people want?

Kenyataan tersebut dikeluarkan satelah menyaksikan betapa ghairah SPRM bertindak terhadap ADUN Pakatan Rakyat Selangor. Walhal rasuah yang melibatkan dana berbilion ringgit saperti skandal Zon Bebas Pelabuhan Klang (PKFZ), pembelian senjata, dan lain-lain cuba dilenyapkan!

Dan hari ini, akibat tindakan kasar terhadap petugas Pakatan Rakyat, menyaksikan tragedi kematian pembantu YB Ean Yong Hian Wah iaitu mendiang Teo Beng Hock.

Coming back to the story, Anwar Ibrahim's statement against this incident is somewhat an answer to a blitz by the state MACC to question all of the 36 Pakatan assemblymen in Selangor. Which I thought of...is GERAK behind the accusation that the 36 of them misuse their funds while BN did nothing wrong?

Beng Hock is supposedly to get married tomorrow and it happens and there's really something wrong about the whole thing. The Taxi Man from Padang Rengas has shot off his big mouth was a remark that few would really agreed or concur with him. I had a feeling that there is a possibility of exposing an MCA assemblyman in connection with the underworld and Beng Hock could might have been silenced to prevent a leak...could it be?

The "Do As I Say Or You're Transferred" Problem

1. This is the common problem in Malaysia that many civil servants particularly those in the lower level echelons are facing. They are ordered to follow orders by their superiors at any costs, irregardless of questions and doubts that could arise from executing the orders. Failure to do is, according to those who walk the corridors of power as insubordination, being defined as refusal to obey orders from those above the level lawfully. However, the exemption of being insubordinate, by logic is when the person who is to execute the order finds something that is illogical about the order, against the factual reality, against their judgement and wrong on moral grounds.

2. This is the problem that also applies to the judiciary and the law. Judges who are handling cases in public vs government (regardless of which court they are) are faced with this scenario and the order of "do as I say or you're transferred". The order usually comes from the government of delivering a verdict of a win for the government at any costs. In any of those cases, it is likely that they will have to bend the law to their own whim to secure the verdict for BN. Refusal to do so means being transferred to maybe another court at the federal level or to another state.

3. If there is a verdict that goes against the Barisan Nasional, they would definitely appeal and set aside the order delivered by the judge. If the verdict is in favor of them, although it is factually wrong, any appeals by the other side would be (by high chance dismissed). This pattern has been seen clearly by people vs government cases like the Kampung Buah Pala case, the Zambry vs Nizar appeal, etc.. The Zambry vs Nizar case has a unique appeal for it has been a public knowledge that Najib Razak gave a directive to the judges to deliver a win verdict for UMNO. No second guesses there. It was anticipated.

4. This also happens to those lawyers working for the AG's chambers. They too are not spared from such problem and dilemma. One example was the then DPP who initially prosecuting in the Raja Petra sedition trial in Petaling Jaya. It was publicly known and figured that there is no way that Raja Petra could be convicted with such tampering of evidence. When Gani Patail was told of the outcome, he flew in rage and sent that DPP to cold storage - or in other words, transferred to another court. This has implied that he was not going to appease his political masters if the judge outcome swings to Pete's favor.

5. The police officers, particularly in the lower levels too are not spared from this charade. The six Statutory of Declarations by the police officers in Johor that handles the illegal rackets and numbering reveal a damning fact that they are pressured to obey the orders of superiors, although they knew that there is something morally and logically wrong of the order received. They get transferred for what is branded as insubordination. So do the police personnel who had to be called in for their duty and being ordered to deal and arrest with people are deemed unruly, first without asking questions. Although it is clear that people who protested but carried nothing offensive and violent like weapons, they are ordered to go high-hand against them. This was noted through some of the pictures from the Perak May 7 fiasco. They have no choice but to do it otherwise, they'd be branded as insubordination.

5. The real fault in this problem lies in the irrational and illogical decision making by the top brass. These actions give the impression that what they do are merely to impress and appease the political masters. Either they know or do not know that what they do in the law enforcement and judiciary is merely to assist the Barisan retain their hegemony, just as the United States against the world. Anything that is the opposition element to the Barisan Nasional is like considered as opposing, ala 'enemy of the state' style.

6. This concept is already seen and demonstrated in what is called as the Icke's theorem. It rings similarly to the Bush Ultimatum - "Either You're With Us or Against Us."

7. One thing we knew for sure is that the police force and the judiciary are split apart. They are some very good judges and good police officers who are morally against such illogical elements and orders. They wish to serve their best for their country without bending to the whims of those who run in power. But they knew that they are in risk facing the wrath of being transferred because of them refusing to follow the directive of the letter.

8. This is a dilemma for people who are in these profession including believers of truth. How should we solve this dilemma when we have the knowledge of what we're told to do is in conflict of the actual work ethics of the profession we are in?

9. The government's real weakness is reacting and being arrogant on the public relations side. What it means is that when a foreign newspaper or a video of such event unknown to the world (example, Bersih, May 7, Altantuya...) publishes it online for worldwide viewers to see, they would go into fury. One example is the remarks of Deputy Speaker Wan Junaidi Jaafar reacting over a news in Malaysia reporting by the AFP recently. As the result, their PR partner were called in to fix the damage, although it is the truth is the damaging thing! My guessing is that the government is still facing the fear perception and opinion that the Malaysian public will not be able to handle the truth as in the 70s until now. The perception has long gone.

10. Now back to the case of Anwar's sodomy II. The government wanted a guilty verdict. It is always the intention of Najib to bump off his rival at all costs, seeing Anwar as a threat to Rosmah and Najib and the Barisan Nasional. It is publicly known, via medical reports and doctors' testimony that the sodomy never happened at all. It was designed to take out two people. The idea of such thing is too fool the people around, who still take what is written in the newspapers of such things going on. But this case is not going to be a something that will help Najib, but will drag Najib more and more into trouble.

30% Subsidy For All IT-Related Equipment

Every year, PIKOM organizes a PC fair nationwide in the months of April, August and December. The is always a sense of encouragement by government and PIKOM to improve the IT awareness and penetration to the end-user. That is why PC fairs are part of it. But then, despite all the latest equipment and encouragement to improve IT awareness, the amout of sales and buying power from the end user is still low - only at buying when necessary - status.

The reason is very simple that the cost of buying is simply over the amount we can afford. Most of the equipment purchased are imported from China or America since they are manufactured Justify Fullthere. The cost is calculated on the exchange rate of USD to Malaysia to Ringgit at the time the stock was acquired. The cost also includes the 30 percent import duty imposed by Customs.

This is Malaysia, we do not have the much buying power as Singapore do, as they can buy 5 times more than us. If you want to increase buying power, here, then the government has to give 30 percent subsidy to all IT related items like hardware and subsidy. Removal of import duty imposed on this should be suffice though or deduct 30 percent from all items cost.

But this is not a suggestion. It is a radical must do thing. Dino, anyone?

Who Are These MPs That Say Aye To Plan B..DNA?

The DNA bill is quite controversial and sometimes debating it triggered some shouting matches last year and it was just passed with just a mere one vote difference. I know that this is always Plan B to kow tim Anwar Ibrahim so that he will still be convicted of Sodomy II despite clear evidence that there's no part of him involved whatsoever at Saiful. How Saiful gets connected to Najib about the sodomy thing is through his godmother, Mumtaz Jaafar, a bag lady and exercise partner of Rosmah at the Lake Club Badminton.

But I'm not really into repeating the gossip. It's merely looking into the picture of who are these MPs who say yes to the bill. I'm pretty skeptical of how the bill is going to be used or executed upon when it is approved and gazetted by the government.

There are two questions to be questioned really, first thing is about preventing the misuse or tampering by those in charge of the data bank. Is there any mention of measures to check that misuse? This is apart from the assurance that only a DCP or above officer is allowed to be in charge of the DNA bank. But what about Rodwan Yusof in the distant future? After all, DCP is two ranks above SAC II.

The second issue is mainly about musing, I really wonder who are these jokers that said yes to the bill? Okay, as far as I know, the bill was passed with just one vote difference. There are a maximum of 219 votes, meaning it can only be 110-109, maximum, (three excludes the speakers) of course and there are some from BN who disagreed. Fine, that's not a problem. But I was brought to the attention of something that mentions about 27 MPs out of 31 from Sarawak that doesn't stand up or make a sound at all, two of them Ministers, one ex-Minister. And it makes me think that these are amont the buggers being longkang MPs, people who promised to represent their community in Parliament before elections, but remained silent after they are elected by the people - in other words, false promises. I still remembered what Ronnie Liu told me about a year ago about choosing who and who and the term of Longkang MPs.

Do they actually know well both sides of the bill? Like both sides of a coin? Or they blindly follow the leader of saying a mere yes without understanding?

Are We Seeing The Abu Ghraib Style of Detention in Malaysia?

Abu Ghraib: SPC Charles Graner beating up restrained detainees

First, it's Kugan, then it's Ganapragasam, in Damansara Damai. Both accused were found dead in police lockups in the vicinity of Selangor. The one common thing is that they are alive and well when they were detained but in the next few days after that, they ended up in body bags. And it's two Indians dead.

The one thing that was very suspicious was that when G. Antony met his wife on Friday, he was in okay condition with an exception of some bruise marks front and right. And despite the assurance from the police that he will be released today, he ended up dead on Sunday morning. The initial analysis by the pathologist who also conducted the second post-mortem on Kugan has the same conclusion that both men did not die by natural causes but it is allegedly caused by some torture methods a.la. Abu Ghraib style of prisoner abuse by the police.

This is the one point that people are getting suspicious of police in how prisoners are treated. I don't know whether it is a new method, by brute force to make an accused admit of their crime although they do not know what they are accused of. Or maybe given that the police do not know whether if the detainee is a member of a underworld or something that the man could be lying or otherwise. If that is the case, where is the lie detector when you need one? Is it that the police, particularly in the logistics division could not afford to buy one or two lie detectors for each station?

When I saw the news of the man dead in lockup, I remembered of the Abu Ghraib prisoner tortures but there, it was more severe than what is in Malaysia. The problem though is that people, especially the makcik and pakcik in rural areas simply are not aware of such things unlike those in the urban areas. Abu Ghraib is more of a prison lockup, it was a modern day gibbet hellhole in the Middle East. At least Tijhar prison, the biggest prison in Asia in New Delhi doesn't go as bad as Abu Ghraib. They have their limits.

At this time, the police have asked the people to stop speculating on the man's death. But then, as the saying goes, you can't capture lightining in the bottle twice in succession. No way that people would accept a statement by the CPO or something that say that G. Antony slipped in the toilet, broke his head and so on. The autopsy remarks were: 4 puncture marks on the back, one the size of a 10-sen coin.

In August 2002 nine unsanctioned military interrogation techniques were included into the US military manual by Captain Carolyn Wood and when she was moved to Abu Ghraib in 2003, she drew up her own rules of interrogation, against what was set and used later for Iraq by General Ricardo Sanchez. It never followed the Geneva Convention standards but followed the Bagram method used in Afghanistan. The only question here is that is our police force starting to use unacceptable methods of interrogation over detainees, even if you're arrested for petty crimes?

Now there's a second death in detention in Selangor, the first person that has to answer is of course the CPO Khalid Bakar. Bakar has previously been branded as a liar following his defence for detaining people at the Bersih Anniversary rally, Kugan's death by lung problem etc.. But then recently Khalid is mentioned in a statutory declaration by ASP Mior Fahim Ahmad that is connected to the Johor rackets syndicate. Part of the SD reads:

" 24. Subjek (i) dan (ii) telah ditahan di lokap Balai Polis Larkin, dimana ketiga-tiga mereka ditahan untuk tempoh 60 hari sementara arahan KKDN. Selepas sembilan (9) hari kemudian, ketiga-tiga subjek di atas dibebaskan tanpa pengetahuan saya, sedangkan saya merupakan IO kes fail. Mereka telah dibebaskan oleh P/DSP. NG FOOK LONG di atas arahan DATO KHALID BIN ABU BAKAR – Tim. Pengarah JSJ 1 – (Operasi/Risikan). Setelah meneliti ketiga-tiga kes fail tersebut, saya dapati mereka dibebaskan dengan alasan, telah insaf, tiada kekerasan dan menjalankan aktiviti secara individu, sedangkan arahan PJSJ No. 2/2005 masih dikuatkuasakan."

Being the CPO means that Khalid has to oversee the entire police force in the state. If you are a commander of the Abu Ghraib prison, that means you are in the same capacity of overseeing the entire camp. Following the exposay of the Abu Ghraib tortures, the commanding officer of the camp, B.G Janis Karpinski was demoted to Colonel, thus ruining her career advancement simply because she had failed to notice the personnel's misconduct on prison treatment although she repeatedly denied that she doesn't know about it. This means, in the same capacity, Khalid has to bear responsibility for failing to control his underlings.

Let's hope that there is no policeman / policewoman / prison wardens in Malaysia that is behaving as disgraced SPC Lynddie England did. The prisoners beating in Sungai Buloh as reported by Malaysiakini is deemed by SUHAKAM as unacceptable.

And then, now we turn our attention to Cousin Hisham. I'm not very sure if Hisham is really doing the job or just being there just because of being cousin of Najib that he gets the privilege. You would want to be ready of what are the roles to play as the Home Minister instead of shaking legs around. For a start, is he really meaning it of what he's saying of the action of policemen in the Perak fiasco or is he telling another story?

Can You Imagine This To Be Rosmah At Her Acting Best?

There was a video that sensationally hit the net that features an admission from a man who feels that Rosmah is well "she b**tch".

Last night, I was watching a TV show at the Mamak store and I happened to see one segment of the show featuring a man adding more insults to the woman in the middle of the room - calling for a divorce - a follow up to a humiliation she had the night before.

The segment climaxed with a very loud hysterical scream from her.

Watching those two videos, I'd say that if the one screaming in the video is Rosmah, then it's her dramatic best performance of the lifetime.

Stadium Collapse - Who's Fault Is It Anyway?

A half-billion stadium built during the Idris Jusoh administration that has 70% of the structure collapsed in a blink of an eye.

Immediately the questions are:

1. Who are the participating sub-contractors?
2. Did the project follow safety guidelines, schedules and etc..
3. Is a demolition work in progress there? Rust that easily goes to dust?
4. Why didn't Samy Vellu get tough on those contractors before he went off?

Well then, Idris Jusoh and his gang could be in hot turtle soup over this matter.

Speaking of which, is it possible that Big Mama's jogging could cause this?

Excerpt from Tukar Tiub's:

BIK MAMA NAIK MARAH

It's A Folly To Think That RPK Is A Pushover Like Others

I spoke for a while with my usual friend, and we briefly mentioned of poor dear Zorro's loneliness for today. Mainly we were discussing mainly about the talk of our Malaysian cops getting help from the Interpol to help find Pete Kamaruddin and extradite him back to Malaysia for the trial, since a warrant of arrest was issued for his failure to attend the defamation trial today.

I was highlighted of a posting from MarGeeMar on our blogger in the spotlight Goh Wei Liang of A Piece of My Mind. I've also mentioned in my previous posting entitled Whose Law To Follow? Malaysia, International or Australia? and as mentioned previously, incidentally, he was my junior in school by two years. Two days after his posting hit the web, basically, out of the tally of 46 comments, many people would be hitting him hard and some said that he's just another Rusdi / BN lapdogs in the making.

Basically, what the Malaysian police wants to do is simply part of the big picture. The ulterior motive of all that is shown here (defamation trials, sedition trials) is that Najib and Rosmah in particular are hell bent of putting him out of action once and for all, because any evidence on Altantuya even from Pete is sufficient to bring both down. See my posting "Hell Bent for Punishment " Reading through the piece today from the Star, I thought I would want to add three more things to what is written around the cyberspace.

RPK

Firstly Pete is basically a no pushover guy that can be put into one corner. If it is claimed that he's in Australia, then in the first place how would the Australian immigration authorities allow him to go through without holding him back or suspecting him of some crime back home? It he's allowed entry into Australia without hindrance, it means that the Australian authorities do not see him as a wanted man or a threat to him.

Right after his credibility is established with those expose among the people's minds, he started with his writings on all kinds of stories without evidences.
But people hold true to it and believed it thanks to the earlier part where he established his credibility.

Given of his antics, despite the comment, Pete can be a smart cookie at certain scenarios warranted.

Secondly, given on his unique lineage (half-English) and him carrying a dual-citizenship (another being an English passport), this gives Pete a chance to be subjected to British laws, not Malaysian laws. Should Interpol decides to do an independent investigation / interrogation of themselves into finding out why Pete would be unwilling to be extradicted, he has the right to use the British law as the law being subjected to, not by Malaysian law.

Third, given of how the reputation of kangaroo courts in Malaysia as seen in the Zambry-Nizar appeal last week, this can give an advantage to play one game on a level field.

Political Asylum and Authority Boundaries

The term political asylum means of the right to stay in a sovereign country if the person is deemed to be persecuted for political reasons (among one) by the country of their origin.

Australia has its known sets of rules in its political asylum matter. If the Australian authorities find that Pete has a reason to be understood of being persecuted for nothing other than political reasons (in this case, yes it falls under that), then they do have the right to grant Pete and Marina the right of an asylum there. However, a fact that is known from that is that Malaysia does not have concrete evidence of telling Australia and Interpol of a valid reason of extraditing him. Raja Petra is not Carlos The Jackal, does he carry dangerous weapons like a terrorist? No! Of course not!

Should Malaysia insists on extraditing Pete from Australia (as it claims to be), under the politcal asylum rules, Australia, as the sovereign authority can state its conditions to Malaysia that must be fulfilled such as dropping the charges, ISA charges or so on since it is the party that grants the asylum thing.

Given of the past reputation, America, Australia and UK are among the top nations that plays fair by the rules and law and on the game of political asylum. If Malaysia is to present its case on the reason of taking Pete back to Malaysia, consider that a folly and other nations will laugh even if it also indirectly refers to Altantuya.

Here's another case of political asylum: Anwar Ibrahim seeked refuge at the Turkish assembly when he received info of a death threat. The Malaysian authorities wanted to take him out but under politcal asylum rules, Turkey will be the witness if something goes wrong with the refugee. This ultimately resulted in our police backing down from being hard or persecuting people.

Don't Be A Hero, Expendable You Would Become

There was a friendly advise gave by my friend during our talk which is basically don't be a hero. I went through most of the comments that readers sent to the guy Wei Liang for his posting it's noticed that people are absolutely unhappy over his stance. My friend even said that our guy is playing a wannabe hero or something.

First of all, given of the stance, it's like being somewhat like either some BN-bloggers that I knew and there was one remark I saw which simply says of another 'Barking Magpie' in the making...hahaha. Anyhow, it's like taking a dangling carrot to work for one organization realizing later that you're expendable and no longer needed. The desire of hitting fame and spotlight diminishes the moment of learning yourself expendable.

Hafidz Baharom's recent article is also a classic case of a wannabe hero but the caution is that he could be expendable someday that we may never know.

The prosecutors that were once part of prosecuting Pete are also paying the price and being expendable. In 'Hell Bent for Punishment', I've mentioned that the previous DPP for the sedition and defamation trials, Roslan Md. Noh was replaced by Gani Patail (read expendable) when they found out that they do not have enough evidence to convict Pete on both trials. Frankly, as long as Pete is out there, the real ones that are guilty in Altantuya murder are sweating and freaking like pigs.

Dear Wei Liang, don't get yourself carried away of being a wannabe hero and be expendable later on. That's what my friends and I want to say. Now there are many monikers on you that you'll see later on...
